Maria Louise Kanellis was born on February 25, 1982 in Ottawa, Illinois, USA. She is a renowned American actress, singer, songwriter, professional wrestler, and model. When she was younger, she developed a huge interest in sports as she used to play basketball, softball, and volleyball. Prior to becoming a celebrity, she joined various beauty pageants. Her career in wrestling started in the year 2004 when she joined the Raw Diva Search. After winning the 5th place, she was hired by the company and her wrestling career immediately started. The same year, her career in acting also approached as she appeared in the reality TV show Outback Jack which was showed in Australia. In 2007, she also appeared in the popular American game show Family Feud. Other than appearing on TV shows, she was also highlighted in films including Mother Hen, Army of the Damned, and A Bet’s a Bet.
So how does the strong wrestler keep a lean and athletic figure? You might be surprised but according to Maria, she doesn’t perform serious and excessive workout but rather focuses on light ones. Her tip? “Be careful not to overindulge yourself in anything, whether it’s food or exercise. If you do too much exercise one day, then you’re not going to want to get up and do it again the next day,” Maria advised. In addition, she revealed, “I do about an hour of cardio as many days of the week as possible, so some weeks it’s three days, the next it might be seven days.”
She also doesn’t believe in food deprivation. “I don’t believe in resolutions. Once you say, “No, I can’t have that,” the only thing you’re going to want to do is have it. If I’m going to have a glass of wine, I’ll have one, but just one. And if I’m going to have chocolate, I’ll have a little piece, rather than the whole bar,” she said.
