Manisha Koirala is an actress known to be of Indian and Nepalese descent. She was born on August 16, 1970 in Kathmandu, Nepal. She officially started her career in acting in the year 1989, particularly portraying a significant role on the Nepali film Pheri Bhetaula.
She became more prominent in 1994 when she portrayed the role Rajeshwari “Rajjo” Pathak on the film 1942: A Love Story and earned the Filmfare Best Actress Award. Soon after, she was seen portraying roles on films Bombay, Akele Hum Akele Tum, Khamoshi: The Musical, Yugpurush: A Man Who Comes Just Once in a Way, Hindustan Ki Kasam, Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya, Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, Tum – A Dangerous Obsession, and many others. Presently, she is filming the upcoming flick Edavapathi: No Man’s Land.
Despite being diagnosed with cancer last year, Manisha continued to do her best when it comes to keeping her body in prime shape. She said in an interview, “I’m doing Yoga. I ply between Kathmandu and Mumbai and I’ve found a good set of people in Mumbai and Nepal. I’m doing yoga, pranayama, meditation and in Mumbai, I have also found a good gym.”
