Mads Dittmann Mikkelsen, simply known as Mads Mikkelsen, is a Danish actor born on November 22, 1965 in Østerbro, Copenhagen, Denmark. Growing up, he used to love dancing. He even became a professional dancer for a couple of years. Later on, he decided to concentrated more on acting that’s why he attended acting school at Århus Theatre School. He got the first taste of appearing on screen when he was included as one of the casts for the 1996 Danish crime film Pusher. He also invaded the television when he portrayed a role in the Danish TV crime series Rejseholdet. Meanwhile he is cast in the upcoming movie The Salvation and is currently portraying a lead role Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the American TV series Hannibal.
When Mads was asked by The Global Town Hall about his fitness regimen to stay in a great built, he said, “I don’t actually follow a fitness routine; it depends on what I am doing. I have an extremely high metabolism. I can never gain weight for a movie. Skinny I can do, overweight is impossible for me. When I have time off, like now, I bike for three hours through the week, play tennis etc, things I enjoy. I am not one of those people who workout in a gym. I want to love what I do.” Well, seems like he’s too lucky to have a fast metabolism and even luckier that he’s not that obliged to experience pain at the gym.
When it comes to his diet on the other hand, he said, “Because my metabolism is so high I have never worried about my diet. I have been able to eat hamburgers and fries when I was younger but now I try and eat healthier not to keep weight off, but for healthier living.”
