American actress Laura Leggett Linney was born on February 5, 1964 in Manhattan to parents Miriam Anderson Perse and Romulus Zachariah Linney IV. She started acting on screen in the early 1990s, appearing on films Lorenzo’s Oil and Dave. After her first film appearances, she was cast for the role Lily Magraw in TV program Class of ’61. Several other role appearances knocked her way, including in TV miniseries Tales of the City as well as in the film Searching for Bobby Fischer by which she was able to work with actors Max Pomeranc and Joe Mantegna. In 2003 to 2004, she was highlighted in the American sitcom Frasier. Later on, she became more prominent when she played the role Erin Bruner in the American drama horror film The Exorcism of Emily Rose alongside Jennifer Carpenter and Tom Wilkinson. Eventually in the year 2010, she portrayed the role Cathy Jamison in The Big C.
Now how does Laura maintain her fit and healthy figure? According to her, “I’ve always been very flexible. I used to dance as a child – but I’ve never been very strong. I wanted my body to work better. Now I work out with a trainer twice a week and go once or twice on my own. She has me doing balance exercises and weight-bearing stuff. It’s strengthening large muscle groups, making sure I balance myself correctly.”
When asked about her diet, she said she’s still trying to figure out which diet suits her body. “I had been so rigid in my thinking about if I was going to be a vegetarian, if I was going to be a vegan. I don’t have to put that pressure on myself. I’m just trying to learn what the best diet is for me.”
