American artistic gymnast Kyla Briana Ross was born on October 24, 1996 in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. The daughter of Jason Ross and Kiana Ross, she is a product of Aliso Niguel High School in Aliso Viejo, California. She was three years old when she started to become involved in gymnastics, attending gymnastics school at Greenville Gymnastics Training Center in Greenville, South Carolina.
Later on she trained at Richmond Olympiad in Virginia and National Gymnastics Training Center in Aliso Viejo and soon after moved to Gym-Max Gymnastics in Costa Mesa, California. In 2009, she qualified as a junior elite gymnast at the Metroplex Challenge. Since then, she was seen in numerous competitions which made her become successful at a young age.
Kyla is very dedicated to her chosen sport, that’s why even if she has to work really hard and do some serious training, she doesn’t fail to accomplish it. “I had to stay focused,” she said in an interview. “I trained 35 hours a week. My coaches, Jenny Zhang and Howie Liang, were very good at pacing me. I’m pretty good at eating healthy and staying away from junk food. My mother cooks nutritious meals so my diet didn’t change.” This girl is really an ideal young sports model to take inspiration to.
