Latvian-Canadian actress Ksenia Solo was born on October 8, 1987 in Riga, Latvian SSR. Growing up in Toronto, she attended ballet school until she reached the age of 14. It was in the year 2000 when she started to appear on screen, particularly guesting in an episode of I Was a Sixth Grade Alien as well as in an episode of Earth: Final Conflict. In 2001, she had her first film which was on A Man of Substance, playing the role Hannah. She later on became prominent when she played the role Zoey Jones on renegadepress.com from 2004 to 2008 where she also earned the Gemini Award for Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series. Later on she made her name became even more famous as she worked together with Natalie Portman for the film Black Swan in 2010. Presently, she appears on the TV series Lost Girl, portraying the role Kenzi.

As an actress who has been dancing since she was a kid, it is no wonder why Ksenia developed such an enviable body. “My mom is actually a former prima ballerina and all the women in my family are associated either with dance or choreography or acting, so I’m very lucky in a way because I grew up in a family of artists. I’ve been dancing since I was a little kid,” she said in an interview.

Prior to filming Black Swan , Ksenia did prepare in order to be in top shape. “When I found out I got the role I wasn’t really in shape; I hadn’t been dancing for a while,” said the actress. “The second I heard about it I was so scared about how intense the dancing would be that I started training literally all day long, every single day, as much as I could before my feet would completely buckle under me. I would be in pointe and in those ballet shoes. I trained for about three months before the film.”
