Kobe Bryant-Celebhealthy_comAmerican professional basketball player Kobe Bean Bryant, was born on August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This Los Angeles Lakers’ shooting guard of the National Basketball Association (NBA) first entered the NBA directly from high school, and has played for the Los Angeles Lakers his entire career, winning five prestigious NBA championships.  He is a 16-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, and 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team.  Bryant became the youngest player in league history to reach 30,000 career points and became the all-time leading scorer in Lakers franchise history. He has won the All-Star MVP Award four times (2002, 2007, 2009, and 2011), and gained the title for the most All Star MVP Awards in NBA history. He won gold medals as a member of the USA National team in 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics.  In addition, Bryant became the official ambassador for ASAS or After-School All-Stars, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to provide after-school programs to children in 13 cities in United States.  He also partnered with the Soong Ching Ling Foundation for his Kobe Bryant China Fund.

Bryant sees to it that he allots 6 hours a day for his regular exercises, which he does six days a week.  He spends time running, doing cardiac exercises, and weight training, apart from his two hours basketball practice.  He develops his muscles by doing military presses, leg curls, abdominal crunches, and biceps-triceps building.  Bryant allots the remaining one day of the week for relaxation.

He makes sure that his body is taking in appropriate amount of protein, especially that he is working so hard to build his muscles.  He also takes in large amounts of water, consumes fresh fruits whenever faced with hunger in the midst of his main meals, and takes in eggs, salad, or toast in the morning to avoid large gaps between two meals.  He opts for low fat yogurt for refreshments, and includes green tea for his source of antioxidants.
