Kimi-Matias Räikkönen, professionally known as Kimi Räikkönen, is a Finnish racing driver. He was born on October 17, 1979 in Espoo, Finland. He started racing when he was 15, already gaining a success in a racing competition in Monaco. In 1999, he participated the European Formula Super A championship and ended up in second place during the event. During that time, he was also able to join the Formula Ford Euro Cup. In 2002, he competed the Australian Grand Prix and got the third place. Soon after, he joined annually on different racing competitions. Winning a safety car strategy call in San Marino and Spain, he became one of the most successful car racers in the world. Presently, he agreed a two-year deal with Ferrari.
So how does the renowned racer stay fit? Well, according to his fitness trainer Mark Arnall, “During a training day at home in the morning Kimi does some cardio fitness for one to three hours. Quite often he rides his mountain bike or does some exercises for his overall fitness. In the afternoon he likes to do some fun sport and often plays badminton, golf, ice hockey or goes jet skiing. This training helps him to strengthen his leg muscles and, in the case of jet skiing he improves balance, coordination and muscles in his upper body he needs for driving.”
And what about his diet? “Kimi is a very healthy eater,” said Mark. “Also because his wife Jenni likes healthy food. In the morning he has Finish porridge for breakfast, sometimes cheese, ham and eggs. He likes pasta, chicken and salads.”
