Katinka Hosszú is a female Hungarian swimmer. She was born on May 3, 1989 in Pécs, Hungary to Istvan Hosszu. Throughout her career, she was able to compete three times at the Summer Olympics, particularly in the year 2004, 2008, and 2012. She earned her first success in the year 2004 when she participated at the European Short Course Swimming Championships. She particularly won the bronze medal during that time. When she joined the 2009 World Championships, she also won two bronze medals in 200 m medley and 200 m butterfly.
Now what is her pre-warm up routine? Here’s what she revealed in an interview: “My pre-race warm-up is a little bit different each time depends on how my body feels in the water and how ready I am to race. Usually I do about 30 minutes in the water mix up with kicking, pulling, drills and some sprints at the end. Then I do about 10 minutes dryland stretching, and finally I get in the water right before the race with my racing suit on for some sprints for about five to ten minutes.”
As for her diet, she said, “I try to eat as healthy as possible, lots of protein and vegetables. During hard training I eat more carbohydrates than on taper, and during meets I try to maintain my diet, and varies how much I eat depends on the intensity and the quantity of my events.” She added that she doesn’t take any supplements. “I do not take any supplements; I believe that with a balance diet I can get everything that my body needs.
