Kara Goucher is an American long-distance runner. She was born on July 9, 1978 in Queens, New York City, New York, United States. A product of University of Colorado Boulder, she is known as the wife of Adam Goucher and the sister of Kelly Wheeler and Kendall Wheeler. She particularly broke out in the year 2000, becoming the NCAA Outdoor Champion in 3000 m and 5000 m, the NCAA Cross Country Champion, and also a 5000 m Olympic Trials Finalist (eighth). Nowadays, she remains a skilled and successful sports celebrity.
Thanks to Pilates trainer Tracey, who also happens to be her friend, she was able to embrace the wonders of Pilates. “I took classes, and learned about nutrition, and had the best time,” Kara said. “While I was there, I was like ‘I want to do this for other female runners!'”
What benefits can we get from doing Pilates, by the way? “Pilates brings your mind to your body, and your body to your mind,” Tracey said. “It strengthens your weaknesses.” Now that we know about this, maybe we should start enrolling for Pilates classes? What do you think?
