American actor Jerry Ferrara was born on November 25, 1979 in Brooklyn, New York. He is known to have Italian descent. He started to learn about drama when he was in college, particularly attending theater school. In 2000, he officially started his career in the industry, appearing on TV series The King of Queens, That’s Life, and City Guys and particularly acting minor and guest roles. It was in 2004 when he experienced his breakthrough and was given the main role Salvatore “Turtle” Vacara on the TV series Entourage. The said TV program lasted until 2011. Meanwhile, he also appeared on films including Where God Left His Shoes, Gardener of Eden, Seven Days in Utopia, Think Like a Man Too, and several others.
When it comes to keeping his body lean and strong, Jerry stays active by running. “I played a lot of sports when I was a kid, and through high school,” he shared in an interview. “And to kind of get back to competing athletically, even in our old-man version of basketball and boxing, it wasn’t that hard. But yeah, I started off– I could walk like a mile and a half on a treadmill, and now I’ll just run for days.”
According to the actor, being in a fit and healthy shape really makes him feel better. “I don’t think I could have handled some of the work I’ve done in the last three years if I didn’t get into good shape. So it was more about just feeling good. It wasn’t about like, ‘Oh, look at me, I look good.’,” he shared.
