Jennifer Odessa Nettles was born on September 12, 1974 in Douglas, Georgia, USA. She is a renowned American country music artist who is primarily known as the vocalist of the country music duo Sugarland. During her childhood days, she used to perform at their church as well as in their community theatre. From 1986 to 1993, she became part of the performing arts group called Georgia 4-H’s Clovers & Company. Not setting her studies aside, she attended college at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia and graduated with a degree of Sociology and Anthropology in 1997. In 1999, she created a band called Jennifer Nettles Band by which she was able to publish three studio albums and two live albums. It was in the year 2003 when she joined Kristen Hall and Kristian Bush and created the country band Sugarland. One of her greatest achievements was being able to win a grammy for her duet with Bon Jovi while her band Sugarland was also nominated for other grammies.
When it comes to keeping her body in prime shape, Jennifer regularly pays a visit to the gym and works her body out. And whenever she’s on the road for concerts and shows, she keeps her body working by doing Yoga. She once confided in an interview, “On the road, Kristian and I try to do Yoga every other day. We’ll either bring in a teacher or use yogafinder.com to check out local classes.” She added, “Ever since we began practicing Yoga, it’s been creeping into our show. Now every performance includes some ‘shoga.’”
For her diet, she always practices portion control. She even has a special tip when it comes to diet:
“So that I don’t get ravenous after a show, my yoga teacher suggested I lie on the floor with my legs propped on the wall and breathe deeply for five minutes. By the time I stand, I’m able to think clearly about my food choices,” she explained.
