Javier Ángel Encinas Bardem is a Spanish actor. He was born on March 1, 1969 in Las Palmas, Spain. The husband of Penélope Cruz, it was in the year 1990 when he first appeared on screen as an actor, particularly acting as Jimmy on Las edades de Lulú. In 1992, he appeared on the film Jamón, jamón, playing the role Raúl. The said film earned him a Sant Jordi Award for Best Spanish Actor and CEC Award for Best Actor. Since then, he eventually became a prominent celebrity.
Javier suffered Cancer several years ago and according to him, it’s the reason why he lost weight. He said in an interview, “There’s something big— the disease— going on, and the effect that it has on the mind, the body, the soul, but also little details of behavior that have to do with the chronological order of being affected by the disease. It’s a great luxury for any actor, but I couldn’t imagine doing this any other way.” Luckily, he was able to survive it and is now experiencing a healthy body.
He added that nowadays, diet and exercise play an important role in his life. “It was a lot of diet, a lot of exercise, but also a lot of shooting that really makes you feel like losing weight,” said the actor.
