Geena Davis, born Virginia Elizabeth Davis, is a well-known American actress, film producer, writer, former fashion model, and a women’s Olympics archery team semi-finalist. She was born on January 21, 1956 in Wareham, Massachusetts, USA. She was working as a model prior to fame when director Sydney Pollack cast her in his 1982 film Tootsie. Later on she was cast in Fletch as well as in the TV movie Secret Weapons. In 1991, she played Thelma Yvonne Dickinson in Thelma & Louise where she was able to bring home a number of awards and nominations. Meanwhile she also portrayed roles in several TV programs such as Buffalo Bill, Knight Rider, Family Ties, Riptide, and Remington Steele. In 2000, she had her own sitcom called The Geena Davis Show. She also appeared on Commander in Chief and lately she had a remarkable appearance in the comedy fantasy film Beetlejuice 2.
In keeping her body healthy, she resorts to different types of workouts which include ice skating, taekwondo, and rowing. “Rowing is a fantastic exercise,” Genna expressed, “It really works your legs and your back. Taking up sports and doing physical parts has had a profound effect on me, on my sense of myself and my self-confidence.”
For her diet, she practices portion control where she eats whatever she wishes as long caloric servings are controlled.
