Diahann Carroll was born on July 17, 1935 in The Bronx, New York City, New York, United States. She is an American television and stage actress and singer. The daughter of Mabel Faulk and John Johnson, she has been acting career for nearly nearly six decades already. It was in the year 1954 when she started appearing on screen as an actress, portraying significant roles on TV shows Chance of a Lifetime and The Red Skelton Hour and the film Carmen Jones. In 1960, she acted the role Dina Wright on Peter Gunn. She then became part of various films and TV series including Hurry Sundown in 1967, The Five Heartbeats in 1991, Over The River… Life of Lydia Maria Child, Abolitionist for Freedom in 2008, and several others.
Diahann is a very health conscious woman. And she always eats right. According to her in an interview, “What you put in is what you get out. Put in trash, and that’s what you’ll get in return. Get back to the good stuff.” She also said that she’s a fan of green tea. “Drink it. Love it. If you haven’t tried it, you should,” she said.
Other than observing a healthy diet, the actress is also an advocate of exercises. Even at the age of 80, she still looks very healthy and that’s because she also incorporates exercises in her daily routine.
