Denzel Hayes Washington, Jr. is an American actor, director, and producer. He was born on December 28, 1954 in Mount Vernon, New York, USA. A product of Fordham University, he had a background of journalism. Few years after attending school in the said university, Denzel discovered a great interest in acting, so he pursued a career and eventually landed his first role on screen in 1974 where he played an uncredited role in the film Death Wish. He was also cast in the medical drama TV series St. Elsewhere. While successfully dominating the industry, he also earned several nominations and awards such as Academy Awards Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, Black Reel Awards Best Actor, Golden Globe Awards Best Actor, MTV Movie Awards Best Performance – Male, and a lot more. Recently he took part of the upcoming action thriller film The Equalizer where he is expected to appear as Robert McCall on the said film.
