He was born on April 7, 1980 in Elgin, Illinois, United States. The son of Billie Otunga and Moses Otunga, he is a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion. He was also the runner-up on the first season of NXT and the last original member of The Nexus and The New Nexus.

He explained, “My meals generally consist of lean protein such as chicken, turkey, beef, or fish; complex carbohydrates like sweet potatoes, yams, wheat bread, and lots of fibrous greens; and some healthy fats. I try to plan and time my meals, especially my carbohydrates, based around what I have going on that day and my activity level.”
