Damian Watcyn Lewis, OBE is an English actor and producer. He was born on February 11, 1971 in St John’s Wood, London, United Kingdom. The husband of Helen McCrory, he is the father of Gulliver Lewis and Manon McCrory-Lewis. He first came out on big screen in the year 1997, playing the role Patrick on the film Robinson Crusoe. He became remarkable when he was cast on the miniseries Band of Brothers, playing the role Maj. Richard D. Winters in 2001. The said TV series earned him a nomination for Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film and Satellite Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film. From 2011 to 2013, he also appeared on Homeland, playing the role Nicholas Brody. He also earned plenty of nominations and awards because of the said TV series.
When it comes to keeping his body in a great condition, Lewis usually just spends time at the gym doing lots of exercises. “I usually have to go to the gym to put muscle on,” he said in an interview.
It is noted that he spent five weeks preparing for “Homeland”, performing cardio sessions and strength training for about 90 minutes daily. Other than that, he also does squats, press-ups, and lunges.
