Christopher Robert Evans or more popularly known as Chris Evans was born in Sudbury, Massachusetts, U.S. on June 13, 1981 to Lisa Marie, an artistic director at the Concord Youth Theater, and G. Robert “Bob” Evans III, a dentist. The handsome American actor first entered the entertainment industry by making appearances in TV series. Soon after, he landed on different movies like Fantastic Four in 2005 and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2007, and Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011 and Marvel’s The Avengers in 2012. This 2014, the Evans is said to release the second sequel of his hit movie Captain America entitled Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
With his amazing body built and gorgeous physique, there’s no doubt why a lot of women go gaga over him. However to attain the role of a superhero, Evans had to gain muscle mass quickly as that’s how people portray superheroes just like the ones in the comics- fit, muscular and ultimate hunk. According to his trainer, the actor’s workout routine was composed of high-weight/low-rep sets of the classic compound lifts such as dead lifts, squats, weighted dips, chin ups and incline bench presses.
‘He also did a lot of bodyweight moves and included some plyometrics to fire up his fast-twitch muscle fibres, such as squat-to-box-jumps,’ says his trainer. ‘The aim was to keep his heart rate high throughout the workouts. I didn’t want to ignore this aspect of fitness because once filming started Chris was effectively going to have to work out on camera during the action scenes while wearing a 6kg costume as well as carrying a helmet and shield.’
