American television, film, and stage actor and director Blair Erwin Underwood was born on August 25, 1964 in Tacoma, Washington, United States. Known as the son of Frank E. Underwood, Sr. and Marilyn Ann Scales Underwood, his name in Hollywood started to become prominent in the year 1996 when he was nominated for NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his appearance on the movie Set It Off. In the year 2014, he earned another success when he won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special for his impressive role portrayal on The Trip to Bountiful.
Blair admitted in one of his interviews that in order to lose some pounds, he undergone a Master Cleanse. According to him, “There’s five months between the pilot and the second episode. I saw the pilot and was like, ‘Oh brother, you better lose some weight!’. I basically starved myself for two weeks.”
Master Cleanse, by the way, is a kind of body cleansing wherein a person needs to consume a mixture of lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper.
