Born on May 7, 1992 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Alexander Ludwig is the son of Sharlene and Harald Horst Ludwig. He started acting at the age of nine when he endorsed the Harry Potter toy in a TV commercial which gave him the opportunity for more acting roles. In the year 2000, he landed an uncredited role in Air Bud World Pup. Four years later, he was again featured on screen and played a role in MXP: Most Xtreme Primate. It was in 2006 when he was able to work with Judy Davis and Jonathan Jackson in A Little Thing Called Murder. His breakthrough came in 2012 when he was chosen by The Hunger Games movie production to portray the role Cato, which made him become noticeable and labeled as the new heartthrob in Hollywood. He later on landed another role which was in the comedy film Grown Ups 2. Currently, he is filming two movies which will be out this year–the Final Girl and When the Game Stands Tall.
The 21 year-old actor is undeniably a hunk because of his ripped physique. According to him, he had gone through series of grueling workouts before filming the Hunger Games together with his personal trainer. His workout mainly focused on rope climbing, tire flipping, and other tough exercises to come up with visible muscles. Other than that, he also experienced tremendous fighting techniques to prepare him for the action stints that he will perform on the film.
For his diet, he consumed foods loaded with protein as well as foods with low carbohydrates.
