Andrea Joy Cook, commonly known as A.J. Cook, was born on July 22, 1978 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. At an early age of four, she started to dance jazz, tap, and ballet, and even competed in several dance contests. At the age of 16, she started to pursue her dreams as an actress. Her first TV appearance was on a 1997 McDonald’s commercial. From that year on, her career in show business started to soar high as she played the role of various characters in films and TV series. She starred as Mary Lisbon in the film “The Virgin Suicides” in the year 1999, acted as Lori Peterson in 2002’s “The House Next Door”, and Kimberly Corman in “Final Destination 2” in the year 2003. In 2005, she made a breakthrough in the TV Series, Criminal Minds, where she played a main role as Jennifer “JJ” Jareau, up to the present.
At the age of 35, A.J. still managed to stay in great shape. She has a serious inclination to Pilates and always finds time to visit RockIt Body Pilates, which is located in Manhattan Beach. She also goes for a run. A.J. stated, “If I can’t get to the Pilates studio, I’ll go for a run. And we’ve started doing yoga as a family.” She was referring to her son and husband.
Before, she had tried every possible diet just to lose weight, but ended up in vain. Today, she concentrates more on how to feel better rather than how to lose weight. Like the increasing number of people, she’s also starting to embrace vegan diet. According to her, “Slowly I started eating fruits and vegetables and whole foods, and then I had no desire for meat or dairy, so I pretty much cut those out of my diet.”
